PARMA HEIGHTS, Ohio

Drunken driving, Olde York Road: On Oct. 2, police were dispatched to an Olde York Road accident.

An arriving officer talked to the driver of a blue 2011 BMW 335 who it turned out smelled like booze and had a suspended license.

After refusing to identify himself to officers, resisting arrest and threatening violence, the Parma Heights man was arrested.

He later failed a field sobriety test and was charged with drunken driving.

Resisting arrest, Pearl Road: On Sept. 30, police observed a silver 2016 Chevrolet Malibu run a red light on Pearl Road.

While talking to the driver, the woman — who had a suspended license — refused commands and resisted arrest.

The Maple Heights female was charged with obstructing official business and resisting officers.

She was also cited for a traffic violation and driving under suspension.

Shoplifting, York Road: On Sept. 30, police were dispatched to a York Road store regarding a shoplifting incident.

An arriving officer talked to the caller, who said a suspect removed several items from their store without payment.

The Wadsworth male was arrested for theft.

Police are also investigating items that may have stolen from another store that were in his possession.

Vandalism, Pearl Road: On Sept. 17, police were dispatched to a Pearl Road gas station regarding a vandalism incident.

An arriving officer talked to the caller, who said a man vandalized the screen on his gas pump by striking it with the gas nozzle and his fist.

Police are investigating.

Theft by Deception, Maplecliff Drive: On Sept. 19, a Maplecliff Drive resident came to the police station after discovering they were the victim of fraud.

They told the officer about sending a $150 deposit through the Zelle banking app as a down payment to adopt a dog.

When the selling party received payment, they advised the resident that dog in question had been sold prior to the money transaction being completed.

However, the seller was unwilling to refund the $150.

Police are investigating.
