Dover Police Investigating Early Morning Shooting in Emerald Pointe

DOVER, Del. — Dover Police are investigating a shooting that damaged an occupied home in the Emerald Pointe community early Saturday morning.

Officers responded to the 300 block of Topaz Circle at approximately 4:56 a.m. Saturday after receiving reports of shots fired, according to police.

Investigators determined that one or more unknown suspects fired multiple rounds at a residence around 4:52 a.m. The home was occupied at the time by a 66-year-old man, a 51-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man. No injuries were reported.

Police said the residence sustained at least 21 bullet strikes to its exterior. During a canvass of the area, officers recovered multiple spent shell casings from a nearby property.

No suspects have been identified, and a motive for the shooting has not been released.

The investigation remains ongoing.
