Cumberland cuts ribbon on new community learning center

December 12, 2025 12:21 pm

CUMBERLAND, R.I. (WLNE) — Officials cut the ribbon on Rhode Island’s first community learning center Friday morning.

The new center is located in the Amaral Building in Cumberland, next to town hall on Broad Street.

The ceremony was attended by Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee, as it is part of his “Learn 365 RI Initiative.”

McKee said that there are another 20 community learning centers being built throughout Rhode Island right now.

The revamping of the building also works toward redeveloping the area.

The new center also houses educational, job development and health services.
