CTA Yellow Line trains running with delays after downed tree disrupts service

CTA Yellow Line trains were back on the move with delays after service was temporarily suspended Wednesday morning when a downed tree branch fell on the tracks.

The obstruction was reported around 5:30 a.m. at Dodge Avenue in Evanston, according to CTA. Crews were working to restore service.

Earlier, CTA advised riders to consider alternatives, such as the #97 Skokie buses.

Shuttle buses were still running from Dempster-Skokie to Howard to provide connecting service in both directions, CTA said in an alert.

On Tuesday night, Yellow Line service was delayed for about 30 minutes to signal problems at the Howard station.

The two incidents are not related, CTA said.
