A Torrington woman has been found guilty of assaulting a family member with a baseball bat during a domestic incident in 2023.

A jury in Torrington Superior Court found 47-year-ild Amie Wilt of Torrington, guilty of second-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace on Oct. 2, according to a release from the Connecticut Division of Criminal Justice.

Court records show that officers from the Torrington Police Department responded to a residence on Dec. 20, 2023 for a domestic incident. During the investigation, police determined that Wilt had assaulted a family member with a baseball bat, according to court records.

Judge Ann E. Lynch, who presided over the jury trial, scheduled Wilt’s sentencing for Jan. 20, 2026, in Torrington Superior Court.

Litchfield Judicial District State’s Attorney David R. Shannon thanked the Torrington Police Department and the Connecticut Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection, Division of Scientific Services, “for their extensive work and dedication in this investigation.”
