A Connecticut mayoral candidate will be leading a 15-mile walk Monday, Sept. 1 to commemorate Labor Day, according to a statement.
“We’re celebrating the role labor has played in shaping our community and honoring that legacy by ‘walking the walk’ and building a better Berlin—step by step, one conversation at a time,” Berlin mayoral candidate Brian DeLude said.
DeLude’s 15-mile Walk Across Berlin will begin at the Kensington Fire Department at 8 a.m., according to a statement. The walk will end at the Berlin Fair Grounds “with a town-hall style event.”
“This campaign is about establishing responsible fiscal policy and transparency in Berlin, and strengthening the sense of community for all,” DeLude said. “There’s no better way to demonstrate that than to meet with residents, listen to their concerns, and answer their questions directly.”
