CT man charged with DUI after crashing into pedestrians in NY

A Bridgeport man was charged with allegedly drunken driving after striking two pedestrians while crashing into a Bronx, N.Y. sidewalk late Friday night.

Abner Rosa Blanco, 42, was driving a white Ford van westbound on East Tremont Avenue and went off the road and into the sidewalk, striking two pedestrians, an 18-year-old female and a 21-year-old male, according to the New York Police Department.

The crash occurred shortly before 11 p.m.

EMS responded and transported both pedestrians to a local hospital. Both are listed in stable condition. Rosa Blanco was not injured and was arrested and charged with three counts of driving while intoxicated, according to the NYPD.
