INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Uplift, a high-energy workout event at the Plaza on Main in Speedway, brought residents together for a fun, fitness-filled fundraiser, benefiting the local parks department.
Sarah Gardner hosted Uplift, a high-energy workout event at the Plaza on Main in Speedway. The one-hour, full-body workout brought together residents for a fun and fitness-filled fundraiser benefiting the local parks department.
Participants enjoyed an upbeat session set to iconic songs that encouraged singing, dancing, and movement, making the experience feel more like a party than a typical workout. The event took place at a vibrant new pop-up park in town, creating an engaging environment that energized the crowd.
“100% of the proceeds go to our parks department,” Sarah Gardner, Uplift host and Speedway councilperson, said. She emphasized the importance of supporting the department, which organizes numerous community events throughout the year.
The event attracted not only fitness enthusiasts but also locals who stopped by to show their support, thanks to its convenient location between two coffee shops. With a noticeable increase in town activity ahead of an upcoming major event, the atmosphere was lively and festive.
The workout featured a variety of exercises targeting the arms, legs, and core, with modifications available to accommodate all fitness levels. Attendees praised the event for blending wellness with community spirit.
Uplift proved to be more than just a workout—it was a celebration of community, health, and local pride, all in support of Speedway’s parks.
