CASPER, Wyo. –– Central Wyoming will see a bit of winter conditions briefly interrupt an unusually warm season this week.
According to the National Weather Service in Riverton, Wednesday will be mostly sunny with a high of 31 degrees and 24 mph gusts. Overnight temperatures will dip to 8 degrees with wind chill values of zero degrees.
Thursday will be colder with a high of 23 degrees and calm breezes around 5 to 11 mph. Overnight will see temperatures drop to 2 degrees, with 20 mph gusts bringing wind chill values at minus 10 degrees. Snow showers are possible by midnight.
Friday will see a 30% chance of snow showers and a high around 14 degrees. Chances of snow showers remain overnight as the low dips to minus 3 degrees.
Saturday will be mostly sunny and blustery, with a high of 23 degrees and gusts around 20 mph. The overnight low will approach zero degrees.
Sunday will be mostly sunny and breezy with a high in the upper 20s.
Conditions are expected to warm up again by early next week, with highs in the upper 30s to low 40s.
