Several notable New Orleans Saints players were not present at Wednesday’s practice, including wide receiver Chris Olave.
Coach Kellen Moore said Olave missed practice with an illness Wednesday. He’s one of three players on the practice report with an illness.
Linebacker Kaden Elliss (calf), edge rusher Anfernee Jennings (knee) and defensive tackle Nathan Shepherd (illness) were also not present at Wednesday’s practice.
Elliss has missed the last two games, and the Saints defense has struggled without him on the field, especially against the run, where they’ve allowed 179 yards per game on the ground. In three games with Elliss in the lineup, New Orleans allowed 128.7 rushing yards per game.
Rookie offensive guard Jeremiah Wright returned after missing the Saints’ Week 5 loss to Minnesota after suffering a concussion during a practice last week.
