LOS ANGELES (KABC) — A chaotic chase through Los Angeles Tuesday evening ended after the suspects collided with another vehicle and weaved erratically through busy freeway lanes.
AIR7 was over the pursuit around 7 p.m. as the suspects were fleeing on the 101 Freeway and nearby surface streets in the Hollywood area.
AIR7 captured the reckless driving as the vehicle crossed multiple lanes and narrowly avoided other cars.
While in Hollywood, some suspects got into another car and continued to flee.
At one point, the driver in the suspect vehicle abruptly exited the freeway and ran a red light, colliding with a van traveling through the intersection from another direction.
Despite the collision, the suspect continued driving and got back on the 101 Freeway.
The chase eventually ended in a South L.A. neighborhood. Several people were taken into custody after the suspects abandoned the car and tried to escape.
The California Highway Patrol and the LAPD were involved in the chase.
Police say one of the suspect vehicles was wanted in connection with break-ins in the San Fernando Valley.
It’s unclear if any injuries have been reported.
