CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WOWK) — Amid the ongoing concern for food insecurity in the Mountain State, the City of Charleston is set to discuss a grant to assist with food distribution efforts.
According to the Charleston City Council agenda, councilmembers will be discussing a resolution authorizing the mayor or the city manager to enter into an understanding with the Kanawha Valley Collective, Inc.
Data shows significant SNAP usage across Tri-State
This is in connection to a one-time grant of $60,000 for food distribution during the month of November and December of this year.
City council is scheduled to meet on Monday at 7 p.m.
