HGTV star Jonathan Scott is putting down the power tools in exchange for a comfy armchair and good conversation.
The 48-year-old home reno pro recently filmed the pilot episode for his upcoming daytime talk show, “BETTER! with Jonathan Scott,” which he has been developing with CBS.
In an Instagram post shared on June 29, Scott shared a photo of himself on what appears to be the show’s new set—featuring a couch styled with decorative pillows—and expressed his gratitude for the experience.
“What just a year ago seemed like a dream, has now become a reality,” Scott wrote. “Had the most incredible time shooting the pilot for my talk show. I am SO thankful for my incredible team and guests who made it magical. Stay tuned.”
Scott first broke the news to his fans on June 10 via an Instagram video, where he shared what viewers can expect on the upcoming show. “I’m going to bring in celebrity experts, fun interviews, practical projects, and stuff that will actually make life better for everybody who watches the show,” Scott explained in his announcement.
He added: “And this is home-related, food, health, you name it. It’s a little bit of everything.”
Scott also reassured longtime viewers that his renovation roots aren’t going anywhere.
According to Deadline, the show is being considered for CBS Media Ventures’ syndication slate for the fall of 2027.
If the pilot is picked up, this would be a major win for CBS’s current daytime lineup, which solely consists of soap operas and game shows like “Beyond the Gates,” “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “The Young and the Restless,” “The Price Is Right,” and “Let’s Make a Deal.”
There hasn’t been a daytime talk show on CBS since December 2024, when the beloved panel program, “The Talk,” concluded its 15-year run.
Scott rose to household fame alongside his twin brother, Drew, through their powerhouse “Property Brothers” franchise. Over the years, the duo has built a massive media empire spanning numerous hit shows like “Celebrity IOU,” “Brother vs. Brother,” and “Property Brothers: Under Pressure,” alongside a successful retail portfolio of home products and books.
