There is nothing that makes me happier than finding good food. It’s even better when it’s breakfast items. It takes it to a completely new level when it’s found at a unique location though.

The new HX Station has been open since late November 2025. While the old store was known for having some tasty menu items (like there famous burgers), the new store has stepped it up a notch in their new digs.
I frequent the store weekly, because they are one of the few places in town that always carries my favorite energy drink, but earlier this week, I noticed they had a breakfast item I had never tried before.
Now, I’ll be honest, I was already a fan of their breakfast burritos (specifically the country gravy one), but I had yet to taste test one of the sandwiches. After seeing that they have a prime rib croissant with egg and cheese, I had to give it a try. I try to avoid pork as much as possible, but there are few places that carry beef or turkey substitutes (in the bacon or sausage variety), so whenever I find a beef option, I have to try it out.
Although the wrapper clearly stated “prime rib”, I was expecting a steak-like knockoff (much like the steak used on the bagel sandwiches at McDonald’s), but much to my surprise and delight, it really was a juicy cut of prime rib.
I’ll be honest, I was not expecting a gas station breakfast sandwich to be so good, but considering where it came from, I should not have been surprised. They kitchen has been churning out winners for a while now.
If you are in a rush and looking for quick, yet delicious breakfast items, I highly recommend trying them out. The prime rib sandwich is a buck or two more than what you might pay at Wendy’s or McDonald’s, but for the taste and quality, it is totally worth it. They also have quite the selection of different items, from sweet to savory options.
