Cambridge Discusses Land Bank – 47abc

(CAMBRIDGE, Md) – The City of Cambridge is working to establish a land bank in the Pine Street neighborhood.

The city is still working out the logistics of the project.

The City Council discussed the land bank during Monday night’s meeting and information session.

City Manager Glenn Steckman says some members of the council wanted to take action in order to acquire clean titles for the land.

He outlines what the next steps are going to be.

“We need to figure out factor in what it’s going to cost in the city budget, how much of that is going to be paid out of the million dollars that has been previously set aside or how much the city operating budget will have to contribute? We need to hire people…” says Steckman.

The city hopes to have the land bank ready to go by the middle of the year.
