BCSO: Multiple bosque assaults reported, suspect at large

The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office is investigating several assaults reported in the bosque area.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office is investigating several assaults reported in the bosque area.

The first incident occurred on Feb. 2 when a suspect allegedly pointed what appeared to be a gun at a victim, pushed them to the ground, and cut their pants. The victim was unharmed. The suspect was dressed in all black, including a face mask, gloves, and goggles.

On March 1, another attack was reported. A suspect injured a man with a box cutter. This suspect was also wearing all black.

Four days ago, a woman riding a horse was approached by a suspect holding a knife, who threatened to stab the horse. She managed to escape. The suspect was described as wearing a black hoodie, blue pants, and appeared to be about 30 years old.

Stay vigilant

The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office said all these attacks happened on the west side of the Rio Grande, north of Alameda.

They are urging anyone with information to call the non-emergency number, submit tips online, or send a text anonymously. In case of an emergency, call 911.
