BOYS BKB: PINCONNING 70, BULLOCK CREEK 59
Pinconning used a strong second half to turn the tide on Midland Bullock Creek, rallying for a 70-59 victory in Jack Pine Conference action.
The Spartans (9-5, 6-4) trailed 35-32 at the half but outscored the Lancers 38-24 the rest of the way for their sixth win in seven games.
“Creek came out shooting hot, putting us behind the 8-ball early,” Pinconning coach Jason Donahue said. “But we kept our poise and fought back for a good win.”
Dayne Ivey and Sean Donahue formed a tough 1-2 combination for Pinconning. Ivey finished with 24 points and Donahue 22 in the win.
Bullock Creek got 18 points apiece from Beau Habitz and Mason Strayer.

BOYS BKB: MOUNT PLEASANT 63, BAY CITY WESTERN 49
Mount Pleasant set a scoring pace that Bay City Western could not match, racing away early en route to a 63-49 victory in Saginaw Valley League North action.
Western (6-8, 1-5) trailed 42-23 at the half before outscoring the Oilers in the third and fourth quarters.
“We dug ourselves a hole early and we had a hard time digging out,” Western coach Will Williams said. “We made a few runs, but Mount Pleasant always answered.”
Zay Hardwick led the Warriors with 14 points while Andy Robbins scored 10 and Nolan Kochany nine.
Xavier Creguer and Jaden Lange scored 15 points apiece to lead Mount Pleasant (11-3, 5-1) while Jake Hutchins tallied 11.

BOYS BKB: FRANKENMUTH 70, JOHN GLENN 45
John Glenn was doing its best to hang with No. 3-ranked Frankenmuth.
But the third quarter burned the Bobcats again.
For the second straight outing, Glenn faltered after halftime, taking a 70-45 setback in Tri-Valley Conference Red action. Undefeated Frankenmuth (13-0, 7-0) used a 24-10 third-quarter spree to take charge.
“We went into halftime feeling like it was reachable, but we had another rough third quarter,” Glenn coach Derrek Clyde said. “We’re at a point where we are improving. The guys are putting their heads down and going to work every day, which is something I appreciate about them.”
Glenn (3-10, 1-6) got a 17-point performance from Danzell Calhoun and seven points from Caleb Seafert. Frankenmuth was paced by Cash Tedford, who sank six 3-pointers in a 25-point effort.

BOYS BKB: SWAN VALLEY 53, GARBER 50
Essexville Garber made a spirited fourth-quarter push but couldn’t overcome a disastrous third quarter in a 53-50 loss to Saginaw Swan Valley.
After playing to a 24-24 standoff in the first half, Swan Valley unleashed a 17-4 third-quarter run to take charge. Garber answered with a big fourth quarter but fell one basket short in the Tri-Valley Conference Red clash.
Garber (6-7, 3-4) got a 14-point, 10-rebound double-double from Gage Jones and 12 points from Cody Cederberg-Kubiak. But that wasn’t enough to dodge a fourth consecutive loss that has the Dukes below .500 for the first time this season.

BOYS BKB: CASS CITY 37, REESE 35
Cass City is recapturing its final-basket magic.
The Red Hawks, who rode a series of last-chance victories to the league title in 2024, returned to that formula for the second time in eight days for a 37-35 victory over Reese.
Kenton Nicholas scored the game-winning basketball with just 2 seconds on the clock, extending Cass City’s winning streak to six games. Just eight days earlier, Will Perry sank the go-ahead bucket in the final seconds to beat Caro.
Nicholas came up big this time around, scoring six fourth-quarter points to help the Red Hawks (8-4, 6-1) turn around a 27-25 deficit to start the fourth quarter. Ryker Wallace and Blake Mackowiak connected on pivotal fourth-quarter buckets for Cass City.
Reese (7-5, 4-3) got 13 points from Steele Stricker and nine from Nick Yates.

BOYS BKB: LAKER 59, VASSAR 42
Laker needed a strong fourth quarter and delivered.
Being pushed by upset-minded Vassar, the Lakers responded with a stellar stretch run, pulling away for a 59-42 victory that keeps them atop the Big Thumb Conference White. Laker (11-2, 7-0) hosts Cass City on Wednesday in a first-place showdown.
Laker owned a tenuous 38-36 lead on Vassar entering the fourth quarter. But, sparked by a pair of timely 3-pointers from Elii McIntyre, the Lakers finished with a flurry for the win.
McIntyre finished with 18 points while Kade Wisenbaugh scored 17 and Lucas Wehner 15. Vassar (3-10, 1-6) was led by Kris Cerda with 16 points and Madix Gorleski with 13.
BOYS BKB: USA 63, BAD AXE 34
Davis Peters caught fire, propelling Unionville-Sebewaing to a 63-34 victory in their Big Thumb Conference White showdown.
Peters poured in 23 points to spark the Patriots (6-7, 3-4). Justin Jacobs tallied 18 points in the win.
Graeme Seltz led Bad Axe with 10 points.

BOYS BKB: GLADWIN 79, ALMA 72 (OT)
After a 10-point lead got away from Gladwin, the Flying G’s recovered, regrouped and found a way to win.
Gladwin came through in the clutch, scoring a 79-72 non-conference win over Alma in overtime.
“I was pretty proud of the guy,” Gladwin coach Mike Verellen said. “There were a lot of tough calls that didn’t seem to go in our favor, but they kept their composure and finished the job. That’s a very good team we beat.”
Alma rallied from a double-digit deficit, taking the lead in the final 40 seconds of regulation on a bucket by Penn Seeley. But Brody Verellen hit a game-tying free throw for Gladwin and the game went into OT tied at 65-65.
A quick bucket by Brody Verellen and a big-time 3-pointer from Peyton Newman staked Gladwin (12-1) to an instant lead in overtime and the Flying G’s finished it off at the line. Jacob Pahl led the way with 22 points while Ben Verellen scored 21 and Brody Verellen 17.
Seeley finished with 22 points for Alma (8-6) while Lucas Ramirez scored 20 and Koby Shunk 19.
