Bar Nunn Town Council’s Steve Clark announces resignation

BAR NUNN, Wyo. — Bar Nunn Town Council member Steve Clark announced his immediate resignation from the council at Tuesday’s meeting, citing personal reasons.

“I have to move to Utah. I’ve got a family member who’s got some health issues,” Clark said. “We have to last-minute head out that way and take care of her.”

Clark, who said he expects to move west in roughly a week and a half, thanked city staff and his fellow councilmembers, as well as the town residents.

According to Mayor Pete Boyer, Clark had served on the council for roughly 11 years.

“Thank you, everybody, for having me up here and letting me serve you. It’s been a pleasure,” Clark said.

“And thank you, guys, for serving with me, building friendships and helping grow the town,” he added, turning to his fellow Town Council members.

At time of publication, Boyer had not responded to Oil City News’s request for comment on the policy of filling vacant council seats. Clark’s term was set to end in 2026.

“He’s been a good friend and a great counsel to me,” Boyer said. “He’s been a tremendous asset to this town as a business owner, as a Christian, as a father [and] as a husband,” Boyer said. “He’s been a great asset to this town; it’s terrible to lose him.”
