The 150th Purinton Family Reunion was held at the Waterhouses campground in Salisbury on July 18. About 80 people attended the weekend event; most were descendants of Chase Purinton, who moved to Lincoln with his family in 1803. He built the town’s first grist mill in 1806 and is commemorated with a stone monument on Quaker Street. The Purintons have gathered every year since 1876, and family members from across the country made the trip this year.
In the latest episode of “Stuck in Vermont,” Seven Days senior multimedia producer Eva Sollberger met the family, flipped through their impressive reunion photo albums and even got roped into taking this year’s photo.
