Arlington will get its first Taco Bell this winter

ARLINGTON — Arlington residents will no longer have to cross city lines to satisfy their Taco Bell cravings.

Construction is underway for the fast food chain’s first Arlington location at 7755 204th Street NE, according to planning documents. Currently, the nearest location is in Marysville.

The restaurant is anticipated to open its doors on Dec. 14, according to Northwest Restaurants Inc.’s construction team.

“As a family-owned company based in Woodinville, NRI is proud to keep growing right here in Washington, and Arlington felt like a natural fit for us,” said Fletcher Boll, the company’s director of development and construction, in an email. “We can’t wait to welcome the community in and become part of the neighborhood.”

The 2,240-square-foot restaurant will move into a currently vacant lot, neighbored by two different auto parts retailers. The site will include a single drive-through lane and 21 parking spots, including two accessible parking stalls, planning documents said.

A traffic impact analysis predicted the restaurant would generate 476 additional weekday trips. A three-year forecast ending in 2028 anticipates background traffic volumes to grow 3.4% per year.

The traffic evaluation was done during the land use review process, Arlington’s spokesperson Mandy Kruger said in an email.

Taco Bell is known for its Mexican-inspired eats, late hours and menu items such as the Mountain Dew-based Baja Blast drink. Glen Bell opened the first Taco Bell restaurant in 1962 in California; since then, the fast food chain has grown to include more than 8,200 restaurants, 89 of which are in Washington.
