VIDEO: Alternative firearms season gives Arkansas hunters more options
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Ahead of country singer Riley Green’s upcoming Duckman Jam concert at Simmons Bank Arena, officials with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission are giving away a VIP experience to one lucky hunter.
Hunters can submit their favorite hunting story and pictures from the woods and waters of the Natural State until midnight, Nov. 12 and AGFC staff will pick their favorite.
The concert, happening Nov. 22, features special guests Jamey Johnson, Drake White and Lauren Watkins. It is the second year for the event, which was held at Flora-Bama Bar in Pensacola, Florida in 2024 before being moved to Arkansas, the duck hunting capital of the world.
Adam Putnam, chief executive officer for Ducks Unlimited, said that the Duckman Jam isn’t just about celebrating duck season in the Natural State, it’s also about supporting conservation efforts in Arkansas.
“Proceeds from the event will go to the greentree reservoir habitat renovations in eastern Arkansas,” Putnam said. “DU works with the AGFC to acquire grants that fuel wetland conservation in the state, and this money will add to that effort and the flooded timber that hunters travel to Arkansas to experience.”
Duck season in the Natural State runs from the following dates:
Nov. 22 – Dec. 1
Dec. 10-23
Dec. 27-Jan. 31
