Arkansas County Assessor urges residents to assess property by May 31 deadline

Arkansas County Assessor Marcia Theis reminds residents that the deadline to assess personal and business property is May 31. Property can be assessed in several convenient ways.

“You can assess by calling 870-659-2072 or 870-659-2105, or you can go online at www.countyservice.net,” Theis said. “Businesses can email their information to VLR@arkansascoutryar.org, mail it to our office at 101 Court Square in DeWitt, Arkansas, or drop it off in person.”

Theis also encourages homeowners to check on their homestead credit status.

“A homeowner who lives in that house and has their name on the real estate (deed) qualifies for the homestead credit,” Theis said.

The Arkansas County Assessor’s Office is open from 8 a.m. to noon and from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
