INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Warmer Wednesday on top with highs and near 40. It’s going to be a brief warm-up with much colder air moving in for the end of the week and into the weekend. It looks like this arctic blast is going to stick around for quite some time.
TODAY: Partly to mostly cloudy conditions expected today. The main weather story is that it’s going to be a bit gusty and warmer today. Look for high temperatures right around 40. Winds will be a bit breezy and may gust at times near 30 mph.
TONIGHT: Temperatures begin to drop this evening. Look for Lows right around 19. Skies will be partly cloudy throughout the overnight hours.
TOMORROW: Temperatures will be right around freezing on Thursday with a mix of sun clouds.
7 DAY EXTENDED FORECAST: Arctic air moves in for the end of the week. It is going to be blustery and frigid on your Friday. We will start off early Friday morning with temperatures into the single digits and wind chill values below zero. Be prepared for some locations especially in northern Indiana to see some school delays. High temperatures on Friday will be in the teens.
Over the weekend the cold air sticks around and will look for highs only around 13 on Saturday. Many spots in the northern part of the state may not get out of the single digits. The cold air sticks around on Sunday with highs into the teens as well.
We are tracking a system this weekend that could bring snow across parts of Indiana. Right now it looks like the heaviest snow is tracking just south of the state. But many locations around the state will likely see at least some kind of snow. If you have travel plans be aware that you could see some impacts especially south with snow and also some ice accumulation.
