APD: 1 arrested for alleged rape and kidnapping, SWAT standoff in Albuquerque

Jayre Jones is accused of kidnapping and allegedly raping a friend.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A SWAT situation over a man accused of raping and kidnapping someone led to an arrest Monday in northeast Albuquerque.

Police arrested a man after a SWAT situation that happened at around 4:30 p.m. at a home on Watercress, near Alameda Boulevard and I-25.

According to APD, Jayre Jones was staying at an Airbnb with his friend. She said he held her against her will and raped her.

Police eventually arrested Jones. He is in the Bernalillo County jail.
