Altoona road closes after semi-truck knocks down power pole near Adventureland

ALTOONA, Iowa —

A road in Altoona is closed after a semi-truck hit wires and brought down a power pole.

The crash was reported in the 400 block of 34th Avenue SW near Adventureland. Altoona police confirmed a semi-truck dragged a power pole down after hitting some wires.

34th Street SW is closed from Hubbell Avenue to Walmart.

Emergency crews were called to the scene to determine the danger from the downed wires and to clear the area.

The pole fell near a metal building on Adventureland property, according to authorities. The building was evacuated. Nobody was injured.
