A local 28-year-old woman is charged with killing her own father in northeast Albuquerque.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – A local 28-year-old woman is in jail, charged with killing her own father.

Police say Summer Coughran called 911 early Tuesday morning, claiming she shot and killed her dad after he assaulted her at their northwest Albuquerque home.  

However, investigators say her story did not match the evidence they found, and she could not exactly say what her father did. 

Police say they found several police reports on Coughran, including one showing she was diagnosed with schizophrenia.
