AgWorks Corridor introduced for 11 counties, including Lancaster

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Lincoln Partnership for Economic Development (LPED) and Select Greater Omaha (SGO) have partnered together to create the AgWorks Corridor. The initiative plans to accelerate agricultural growth along Interstate 80.

The AgWorks Corridor was created to connect 11 counties, including Lancaster. It will work to connect these counties with the resources, innovation and investment to help the region become the leader of agriculture across the Midwest.

Their brand new website allows companies to connect and support each other. They said companies will benefit from direct access to unmatched feedstock, research institutions and a skilled workforce.

They said it will create opportunities for the economy.

“The I-80 Corridor between Lincoln and Omaha represents Nebraska’s greatest engine for economic opportunity,” said Jason Ball, President and CEO of the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce and the LPED. “The collective population, workforce, education, research and existing business and industry base of this region offers a compelling investment opportunity for any number of businesses.”

The 11 counties in Nebraska and Iowa will align strengths for shared priorities and opportunities.
