7 nonprofits to receive a shared $30,000 from Cumberland County family ranch

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Seven nonprofits in Cumberland County will receive grants thanks to Sweet Valley Ranch.

Owned and operated by Fred and Anita Surgeon, Sweet Valley Ranch has strong roots in the Fayetteville area through its agriculture, livestock, and other aspects of farming. The owners of the ranch/farm also run it to be in “complete harmony with the surrounding lands” while promoting freedom of spirit, personal growth, and an appreciation for family and giving back to the community.

Applications are now open for local nonprofits to benefit from a collective $30,000. The window to apply will continue until November 21st.

Five will receive $5,000 each – and two faith-based organizations will receive $2,500 each.
