SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WISH) — The South Bend Police Department is investigating a shooting that injured a 4-year-old girl at an apartment complex.
Around 1:20 a.m. Sunday, South Bend officers were called to the 3300 block of South High Street on a report of a shooting. That is the location of the Miami Hills Apartments. Officers arrived and were advised that a 4-year-old girl had been transported to an area hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound.
The girl’s injuries are non-life-threatening.
Investigators believe the child was inside an apartment when she was struck by apparent gunfire from outside of her residence.
Several other apartments were damaged by apparent gunfire, but no other injuries have been reported.
