20-year-old arrested after shooting at Willoughby bar

A man was shot in the leg at a Willoughby bar Saturday night, prompting police to arrest a 20-year-old suspect shortly after the incident, according to a news release.

The Willoughby police department responded to The Skylight Inn at 34600 Maplegrove Road at approximately 9:17 p.m. on Feb. 14 after receiving a report of a shooting. Officers found an adult male with a gunshot wound to his leg.

The Willoughby Fire Department transported the victim to University Hospitals Lake West Medical Center, authorities said. He was later airlifted to University Hospitals Main Campus for additional treatment.

Police took a 20-year-old male into custody a short time after the shooting. The investigation remains active, and authorities said they will provide updates as they become available.

Police characterized the incident as isolated and said there is no ongoing threat to the public.
