Two teen fishermen found unresponsive off Kaena Point Saturday morning have been identified by the city Department of the Medical Examiner.
The boys who died are Maikah Hampp-Iriarte, 17, and Tony Siufanua, 17, both of Waianae. The cause and manner of their deaths are pending.
There were no signs of suspicious activity or foul play at the scene, according to the Honolulu Police Department.
Honolulu Ocean Safety said one of two fishermen was swept off the rocks, and the other went into the water to help him. Both were found by Ocean Safety personnel near Yokohama Bay and brought to shore, where CPR was performed.
They were transported to a hospital in critical condition and later died, according to police. The investigation into their deaths is ongoing.
