NORTH HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) — One person was killed early Sunday morning during a shooting at an apartment complex in North Hollywood, authorities said.
Officers responded to the area of Laurel Canyon Boulevard near Saticoy Street around midnight and discovered at least one victim – described only as a man in his 20s – suffering from gunshot wounds, according to police.
Police later confirmed that man died.
Investigators said that as officers arrived, someone fired at them. No officers were hit, and police did not return fire.
Authorities said at least four suspects were taken into custody at the scene. Police later said a total of five suspects were detained.
The investigation remains active as officers continue gathering evidence and determining what led up to the gunfire.
