Police are investigating a shooting at a house party in Taunton early Sunday morning that left one person dead and several injured.

After receiving multiple calls about shots fired around 12:35 a.m. Sunday, Taunton police responded to a house on Weir Street. Police said they found eight gunshot victims, all in their 20s. They were transported to local hospitals.

Zirovick Depina, 22 of Brockton, was pronounced dead on Sunday morning, according to the Bristol County district attorney’s office. Another victim is in serious but stable condition, and the other victims suffered injuries that are not life-threatening.

Police said they believe additional victims left the scene and sought medical treatment on their own.

District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III said a homicide investigation is ongoing. Police did not say if a suspect has been arrested.
