Ukraine shoots down 84 out of 94 Russian drones in overnight attack

Russian forces have attacked Ukraine with 94 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other types of drones since the evening of 1 March. Ukrainian air defence forces have managed to down 84 UAVs, though some strikes have been recorded.

Quote: “As of 08:00, [Ukrainian] air defence forces have destroyed or jammed 84 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other types of drones in the country’s north, south and east. Hits by 10 UAVs have been recorded at 4 locations and the fall of downed aerial assets (debris) at 2 locations.”

Details: The drones were launched from the Russian cities of Oryol, Millerovo, Shatalovo and Primorsko-Akhtarsk as well as from Hvardiiske in temporarily occupied Crimea. About 70 of the UAVs were Shahed loitering munitions.

Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare assets, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups from Ukraine’s defence forces have been involved in repelling the attack.

“The attack is ongoing, as several enemy drones are still in Ukrainian airspace. Please observe safety measures,” the Air Force added.
