Kyiv Police bomb disposal experts have defused an undetonated warhead of a Russian ballistic missile that struck the capital last night.

Details: Police said the wreckage of an undetonated Iskander-M missile with a warhead weighing around half a tonne, which posed a significant threat, was found near residential buildings and a petrol station in the Dniprovskyi district.

Bomb disposal experts of Kyiv Police and the Security Service of Ukraine worked together to render the ordnance safe and, using specialised equipment, removed it for further disposal at a testing range.

Background: On the night of 23-24 January, Russian forces carried out a combined attack on Kyiv using attack drones and ballistic missiles. Hits were recorded in three districts of the city, with at least one person killed and three others seriously injured.
