Revellers at the upcoming BakigaNation Cultural Festival are set to experience an authentic village-style Christmas infused with true Kikiga festive energy.
Scheduled for Sunday, December 14, at Millennium Park, Lugogo, the event will feature female sensation Sheebah Karungi as the guest performer. Organisers say this edition will deliver a wave of nostalgia, recreating the kind of Christmas many grew up with in Kigezi, complete with community spirit, food, music, storytelling, and togetherness.
According to BakigaNation team leader Owen Katwesigye Bigombe, one of the biggest highlights will be a mass choir performing Christmas carols the Kikiga way, a grand musical showcase expected to be one of the most heartwarming and anticipated moments of the festival.
The festival’s performer lineup includes Florence Musimenta, Lillian Nabaasa, Norman Shaaka, Lady Sarah, Tpaul, and the BakigaNation Cultural Troupe. Bigombe emphasized that this edition is more than just an event, it is a return to roots, a celebration of identity, and a moment for families, friends, and communities to reconnect.
He reaffirmed the festival’s mission of preserving culture, celebrating community, and shining a light on the richness of Kigezi.
