Over ten people fined for ecological violations in Nookat district

AKIPRESS.COM – Several individuals were fined for environmental violations in Nookat district, according to the southern branch of NABU Kyrgyzstan.

The “Bars-2” group from NABU’s southern branch conducted a raid in collaboration with local rangers, inspectors from the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision, and a district police inspector.

A resident of Baglan village was caught trying to sell 10 chukar partridges he had raised at his home. He was fined 10,000 soms, and the birds were confiscated and released back into the wild.

Thirteen local residents were apprehended for illegal fishing at the Naiman reservoir. Each was fined 1,000 soms, for a total of 13,000 soms.

A truck driver was stopped for dumping construction waste on the side of the road leading to the Naiman reservoir and was fined 7,500 soms.

The total amount of fines issued for these violations was 30,500 soms. The raid also raised awareness of the public on the importance of protecting the environment.
