Mongolia and Kyrgyzstan agree on mutual recognition of national driver’s licenses
AKIPRESS.COM – The Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan has approved an agreement with the government of Mongolia on the mutual recognition and exchange of national driver’s licenses. The document was originally signed in Bishkek during the state visit of Mongolian President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa on July 21, 2025.
The State Agency for Registration of Vehicles of Kyrgyzstan has been appointed the body responsible for implementing the agreement.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is required to notify the Mongolian side that all necessary internal procedures for the document to enter into force have been completed.
The agreement allows citizens of both countries to use their national driver’s licenses while in Kyrgyzstan or Mongolia without having to take additional exams or procedures.
The resolution will take effect seven days after its official publication.
