Mongolia and Australia plan to develop cooperation in mining, geology and human resources

AKIPRESS.COM – Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Damdinnyam Gongor met with Chargé d’Affaires of the Australian Embassy to Mongolia Lalita Kapoor to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation in mining, geology and human resources, Montsame reported.

Minister Damdinnyam highlighted that the “Mining Week” event is vital to expanding investment and international cooperation in Mongolia’s mining sector.

The sides highlighted the importance of improving the investment environment in the mining sector, ensuring legal and tax stability and resolving issues with investors through mutual understanding and negotiations.

Based on 55-year diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Australia, they agreed to expand cooperation in mining, geology, investment, education and human resources through specific projects and programs.

The Australian side expressed its readiness to provide technical support in geology, exploration, mining policy and investment, as well as to further expand bilateral cooperation.
