Kyrgyzstan and Seychelles abolish visas for short-term travel
AKIPRESS.COM – Kyrgyzstan and the Seychelles have signed an agreement on mutual visa exemption for short-term stays, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
On May 4, Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Tourism of the Republic of Seychelles, Barry Faure.
The parties discussed the development of political dialogue, expansion of the legal framework, and strengthening of trade, economic, and humanitarian cooperation, including in agriculture, tourism, education, and digital governance, as well as cooperation on sustainable development and climate issues.
It was noted that the visit marked the first time in the history of bilateral relations that a Seychelles foreign minister has visited Kyrgyzstan.
Following the meeting, an agreement was signed on mutual visa exemption for short-term stays for citizens of Kyrgyzstan and the Seychelles.
As part of the visit, meetings at high and top levels are also planned.
The Seychelles is an island nation in the Indian Ocean located northeast of Madagascar. It consists of 115 islands. Its main economic sectors are tourism, fisheries, and financial services. The capital is Victoria.
