Kamchybek Tashiev opens renovated Nookat-Kyzyl-Kiya road
AKIPRESS.COM – A ceremony was held to open the newly renovated section of the Osh-Batken-Razzakov road, specifically the Nookat-Kyzyl-Kiya segment, on September 13.
The event was attended by Chairman of the State National Security Committee Kamchybek Tashiev, Governor of Osh region Elchibek Jantaev, Minister of Transport and Communications Absatar Syrgabaev, and local officials and residents, the governor’s office of Osh region.
At the ceremony, the governor noted that the road’s poor condition had previously caused major problems. Despite annual repairs, traffic jams and inconvenience for passengers remained significant issues.
The new project involved fully paving a 28 km section of the road, from kilometer 47 to 75. The road is 9 meters wide with a 15 cm thick pavement layer. The project also included building gutters and sidewalks on both sides, as well as bus stops and a new lighting system.
An additional 4 billion soms were allocated from the country’s stabilization fund this year to improve the road infrastructure in Osh region. This funding was used to completely upgrade strategically important roads, including the Uzgen-Myrza-Ake-Kara-Kulja and the Osh-Batken-Razzakov (Nookat-Kyzyl-Kiya) segments.
