Each kindergarten teacher handles 22 children in Kyrgyzstan – National Statistics Committee
AKIPRESS.COM – One in four children in Kyrgyzstan attended a kindergarten in the 2024-2025 academic year, according to the National Statistics Committee.
According to the report, 32.3% of children were enrolled in kindergartens, with 757,521 being girls and 779,112 boys. There are 113 children for every 100 spots in kindergartens, with each teacher handling an average of 22 children.
One in five citizens of Kyrgyzstan is a student. There were 1,536,633 students in daytime general secondary schools as of the beginning of the 2024-2025 academic year. Private schools enrolled 5.1% of boys and 4.3% of girls.
This level of education is primarily pursued by boys, with 19,155 boys and 9,197 girls enrolled.
Girls make up the majority of students at this level, with 75,705 girls (58%) compared to 54,545 boys.
Kyrgyzstan has 57 universities, of which 41 are state-owned and 16 are private.
There were 231,300 students enrolled in universities, including 126,150 women and 105,089 men.
Over 41,000 specialists graduated from universities in 2024.
