Court orders detention of GKNB department deputy head

AKIPRESS.COM – The Pervomayskiy District Court ordered the detention of a deputy head of a department within the State National Security Committee (GKNB) on April 22.

The official is suspected of corruption under Article 336, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, which pertains to corruption committed in the interests of an organized group or criminal community, or resulting in serious harm.

He has been remanded to Pre-trial Detention Center No. 1 (SIZO-1) until May 30.
