219 private schools are open in Kyrgyzstan, majority of them are in Bishkek and Osh
AKIPRESS.COM – Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev spoke about the importance of creating favorable conditions for opening and operation of private educational institutions.
According to him, this will reduce the burden on public schools and provide more children with access to quality education.
Currently, there are 219 private schools in Kyrgyzstan, most of which are located in Bishkek (108) and Osh (54).
33 licenses were issued to private schools in 2024, and another 21 since the beginning of 2025, which indicates the growing interest of the private sector in education, the Cabinet of Ministers said.
“We see that the private sector is actively involved in the educational sphere, especially in large cities. Creating a real opportunity to open more high-quality private schools is our task,” the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers said.
