Residents in East Trinidad had an opportunity to access a host of online government services through an initiative hosted by Member of Parliament for Cumuto/Manzanilla, Shivanna Sam on Saturday.

Member of Parliament for Cumuto Manzanilla, Shivanna Sam said many elderly and disadvantaged residents in remote parts of the country have trouble accessing government services.

Ms Sam noted the intention was to put government’s people centred approach into action.

The MP for Cumuto Manzanilla said she approached Minister of Artificial Intelligence and AI, Dominic Smith to allow the TTConnect team to come to the area.

Specialist from the TTCONNECT Unit of iGovTT, Dion Austin said the team was assisting residents with various forms including the Government Assistance for Tuition Expenses.

Mr. Austin noted that the services included registration so that citizens can file their taxes online.
