The update comes in an Extraordinary issue of the Trinidad and Tobago Gazette, dated April 10th, 2026.

According to the notice, President Christine Carla Kangaloo, acting on the advice of the Prime Minister, has assigned Senator Eli Zakour oversight for the State-owned airline, effective April 2nd.

The move falls under Section 79 of the Constitution.

The amended schedule outlines the Minister’s expanded portfolio, which now includes air services agreements, civil aviation, airports, traffic management, and key state entities.

Among them are the Airports Authority, the Public Transport Service Corporation, and the Trinidad and Tobago Civil Aviation Authority.

Caribbean Airlines and National Helicopters Services Limited are also listed among the majority-owned enterprises under the Minister’s remit.
