All fifty-seven schools under the THA Division of Education’s purview, as well as the Roxborough Trade Centre, will be ready to receive staff and students on Monday, September 8th.
This was the assurance given by the Division via a release on Thursday.
According to Secretary Zorisha Hackett, $20 million was allocated to the 2025 School Repair Programme, managed by the Eco-Industrial Development Company (E-IDCOT). She said that with this allocation, and due to budgetary limits, 26 schools needing urgent interventions were deliberately prioritised.
The release added that, as of Thursday, all 26 targeted schools are either fully ready or in the final stages of preparation for reopening.
It noted that Phase 2 of the School Repair Programme will continue throughout 2025–2026, with further upgrades and interventions taking place at additional schools.
