Four arrested in weekend anti-crime exercises

Four suspects were arrested and a firearm, ammunition, and quantities of cocaine seized during anti-crime exercises conducted over the weekend in the Southern, South Western, and Tobago Divisions.

An intelligence-led operation in the Southern and South Western Divisions on Sunday between 2 pm and 9 pm, was led by ACP Michael Pierre and supervised by ASP (Ag.) St. Clair.

The exercise involved personnel from the National Special Operations Unit, the Canine Unit, and the National Security Special Operations Group.
During the operation, a 42-year-old Fyzabad vendor was arrested for possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, while another 25-year-old vendor, also from Fyzabad, was arrested for possession of cocaine.

Officers later searched a damaged grocery trolley in the La Romain district, where they discovered a Smith and Wesson revolver and two rounds of ammunition.

In Tobago, officers of the Divisional Task Force, Area West, arrested two suspects, aged 63 and 38, for possession of cocaine during an anti-crime exercise conducted in Scarborough between 5 pm and 7 pm yesterday.
Investigations into all matters are ongoing.
