Emergency Injunction Stops Jet Ski Operations At Buccoo Reef And Pigeon Point

The Tobago House of Assembly has secured an emergency court injunction, granted on April 23rd, 2026, to protect the Buccoo Reef Marine Park and the Pigeon Point Heritage Park.

The High Court order immediately halts all jet ski activity within both protected areas. It also prohibits the offering, solicitation, launching, and operation of personal watercraft until further notice.

The THA says the urgent legal move follows serious safety concerns, recent tragic incidents, and continued illegal activity within the marine zones.

The Division of Legal Affairs moved swiftly after the passage of the Tobago Marine Park Bill to secure the injunction.

Authorities are warning that any breach of the Court’s Order will result in legal consequences.

The matter is scheduled to return before the Court on May 1st, as enforcement efforts continue to protect lives and preserve Tobago’s fragile marine ecosystems.
