Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan discuss deepening cooperation in textile industry – EAEU
AKIPRESS.COM – Turkmenistan is interested in cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in the sphere of light industry and agriculture, a member of the Presidium of the EAEU Business Council and President of the Kyrgyz Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Danil Ibraev reported.
According to him, the possibility of supplying textile raw materials from Turkmenistan to Kyrgyzstan is being discussed followed by the manufacturing of products at local enterprises and their sale both on the domestic market and in other countries.
“We know that Turkmenistan, even if it is not a world leader, produces a large volume of cotton. Now we are discussing how to deal with cotton supplies to Kyrgyzstan and develop here a textile industry,” he said.
Ibraev also recalled that nearly a year ago, Kyrgyzstan has already sent its delegation to Turkmenistan with the samples of light industry products, during which the talks were held on cooperation.
Additionally, the issue of mutual supplies of agricultural products is being considered. In particular, currently, tomatoes are being supplied from Turkmenistan to Kyrgyzstan. In its turn, Kyrgyzstan exports potato to Turkmenistan.
